Labour Day Long Weekend, September 04 to 07, 2026, Prince Edward Island
The Hang Gliding Paragliding Association of Atlantic Canada (HPAAC) and the local pilots of Prince Edward Island would like to invite you to the 2026 HPAAC Atlantic Festival of Flight.
The event will be held on Prince Edward Island. Join local pilots and fellow Atlantic pilots for a fun-filled long weekend of flying, socializing and chasing the winds.
All pilots, family and friends are welcome. PG, HG, PPG, PPC, Speedwing pilots, Ultralight…. Free flight, motor flight, tow flights, heck, if you can flap your arms and fly we would love to have you join us!
Flight Events include:
Free flight, (weather conditions permitting), coastal ridge soaring. Under special conditions, there is potential of going XC from two of our main coastal sites. Yes, you read that correctly, XC from a coastal ridge soaring site. A rare opportunity not found at most coastal sites. We are blessed with sites that have traditional coastal soaring ridges that offer regular, very smooth buoyant thermal lift from a shallow bay that regularly gives 1000′ plus altitude over a 50′ coastal ridge.
Dune flying, (weather conditions providing), we have several non-official coastal dune sites that are fun to play on with the potential of short sustainable ridge soaring flights. (Please note: it is not ermitted to fly (including ridge soaring) in any of our National Parks on PEI).
Towing flights, we hope to be able to offer towing operations to provide payin/payout tow flights from a grass airfield and/or beaches.
PPG/PPC demonstrations, morning, and evenings with daily (weather conditions permitting).
Competitions:Free
